Tips for making confetti eggs
- you can use any eggs you have, store bought or fresh from your hens. I used locally grown free ranged colorful eggs from the store.
- I found it helpful to crack the egg on the edge of as squared off surface like my countertop a few mm from the top point of the egg.
- you can rinse the eggs with water before drying them out.
- save the eggs whites and yolk for a delicious recipe, but make sure no egg shells accidently made their way in!
What do you need to make confetti eggs?
- Eggs (as many as you want)
- Tissue paper in your desired colors
- Liquid school glue
- Paper towel
- Egg dye kit or other egg decoration supplies (optional)
- Scissors
- Liquid school glue
Making the Confetti Eggs
- Gently crack the top of the egg careful not to make the cracks spread to far. You can use a sharp object like a fork or pick to poke a small hole at the to to start off.
- Carefully remove a bit of the egg shell just enough to get the egg whites and yoke out and the confetti into the egg.
- Empty out the eggs into a bowl. To make the yolk come out easier you can break it up with a knife or a pick.

- Put the eggs cracked side down to let the excess drain and dry. This can take a while.
- Optional: at this point you can dye or decorate the eggs However you’d like!
- While the eggs are drying, use the scissors to cut 1-2in squares out of the tissue paper to cover the hole in the egg.
- Fold another sheet of tissue paper several times and cut one direction multiple times without going all the way up, making a fringe. Then cut the on the side of the fringe making the confetti.

- Stuff the dried out eggs with the confetti
- Use the paint brush to apply a small amount of glue to the edge of the openings
- place a square of tissue paper over the hole to close it up. let it sit till the glue is completely dry.
